An Oldie but a Goodie

Going through my email and found this from the Admiral

"Working from home today, feeling like hell. Not sure if its the weather or something I ate but I have had a headache since this morning and feel warm despite the AC. I'm still banging out stories but I didn't feel up to doing the commute.

Hope you all have a great weekend!"

How is it overwhelming if you dont come in the office?

This great message from the Admiral today:

"There are times we feel too overwhelmed between work and other things going on, Saturday I had such fun until the evening and then a bunch of little things built up. Didn't sleep well
despite (name removed) assurances. Gosh what a mushy day out.''

This was an email sent from the Admiral about covering different events:

If there is no objection, I am volunteering to take the Saturday Sept. 18 shift as it will help balance out the schedule and I am hoping to avoid Sept. 25 and Oct. 2 as two of the Saturdays that I need to work.

Thanks again (name removed) for agreeing to take the Sept. 25 shift ensuring that I won't have it as I have a club obligation in South Jersey, a function that I proposed last fall and that involves my presence in Mount Laurel. The Oct. 2 date is for more frivolous reasons.

I am taking Oct. 16 as one of my Saturday shift days as well as part of the trade with (name removed) who needs that Saturday off.

I guess another reason I want Sept. 18 is in hopes of covering at least one if not all three of the county events going on, Ren Faire in Lakewood, Greek Fest in TR and Clown Fest in Seaside Heights.

During my freelance days when I did side work for a weekly in Seaside while I worked for The New Egypt Press, I covered all three in one day or was able to spread them out during the weekend. I also covered Clown Fest and Ren Faire back in the 80s when I worked for the long gone OC Review. Ask (name removed), there is a pic of me wearing Ren Faire garb and having clown grease paint on. Yeah, I really "got into" covering those events and we know me and costumes. <G>

I'm sure you both can picture me as a Medieval Clown eating Greek food and mixing each theme together. Ironically, my band of Trekkers once attended the Ren Faire in garb (medieval attire) and then went to have lunch at the Greek Fest late in the afternoon. Then we got the call that one of our members who was pregnant was in labor and we all went to CMC. We obviously didn't have time to change and we greeted her and the new baby dressed in costumes. Emily and I still remember that day. Freeholder Joe Vicari who even then, knew me for nearly 20 years, thought I was one of the Greek dancers who performed at the Greek Fest when I saw him there, not knowing I was dressed in garb. That was unbelievably, 11 years ago.

Of course, as fate has it, I may end up being sent to something totally different.

Should this present a problem for either of your schedules and that you actually want Sept. 18 as your day, let me know. I just figured this would make life easier.

I'll be off tomorrow since I'm working Saturday. I'll try and bring you back some gold coin booty at Pirate's Day or at least a patch eye (name removed). ARRRRRRR Yo ho and a bottle of rum!
